Indoor Track and Field Season to begin this Saturday
Wichita, KS - Friends University will compete in its first indoor track and field event of the season this Saturday, January 15th.

The Falcons will be traveling to Lincoln, Nebraska to compete in the Holiday Inn Invitational. The season will consist of five meets. Each athlete will be looking to hit their qualifying marks to compete in the NAIA Indoor Track and Field National Championship meet. This year the national meet is held in Johnson City, Tennessee and will take place on March 3rd. For the complete schedule please click here.
 
Friends University women's indoor track and field athletes that will be leading the way in their respective events are as follows:
5,000 meter – Jordan Arnold, Karissa Cominator, Taylor Doll, Lindsay Dunham
Mile, 800 meters – Kristie Adams, Lanae Kidd, Megan Shepherd
Horizontal Jumps – Sara Bryant
High Jump – Sara Wiebe
 
“We were very fortunate to have an expanded indoor schedule over previous years,” said Coach Kennedy. “Our athletes will have great opportunities to hit National qualifying marks each week they are competing”
 
Men's indoor track and field athletes that will be leading the way in their respective events are as follows:
5,000 meters – Matt Ditzler, Dan Neidlinger, Tim Patterson
Mile, 800 meters – Michael Gurley, Allen Shockley
400 meters – Damian Berry, Cole Hancock
Sprints – Chris Steen
Hurdles – Doug Pierce
Long jump – Nathan Nonhof, Doug Pierce  
Triple jump - Doug Pierce
Throws – Quentin Benning   
 
“We are very excited to begin the Indoor Season,” said Coach Peterson.  “We look forward to compete at a high level and work on getting everyone qualified for Nationals.”
