Friends University Athletics

Wichita, KS – Both men’s and women’s tennis team played in the Salina/Bethany tournament on Saturday.

There were twelve teams participating in the tournament.

On the men’s side, Friends University, Corey Cockrell and Billy Cloomquist made it to the semi-finals of the single’s consolation bracket in the second flight. David Alley made it to the semi-finals of the main draw in the fourth flight.  Colten Heinrich and Cory Cockrell won the consolation bracket in number one doubles. Scott Matzen and Billy Bloomquist made it to the semi-finals of the main draw in number two doubles.

On the women’s side, in the consolation bracket, of the number two singles flight, Robin Bass made it to the semi-finals and Samantha Weeks lost in the finals. Amanda Thulin lost in the semi-finals of the consolation bracket in number four flight.  Katie Lepping lost in the finals of the consolation bracket in number five singles.  Sam weeks and Elly Johnson lost in the finals of the consolation bracket in number one doubles.
