Falcon Tennis Advances To KCAC Playoffs

With the completion of regular season play, Friends University Falcon tennis advanced into KCAC playoffs this week.
Ending the season with a fifth place conference finish, the Lady Falcons traveled to Tabor on Tuesday where they fell in the first round 6-3. As the story of their season goes, playing with only four ladies due to a number of injuries throughout the year, a number of the matches were close but the disadvantaged proved too much to overcome.
Meanwhile, with just one conference loss, the Falcon men finished regular season play at second place in the KCAC. As the higher seeded team in the post-season tournament the Falcon hosted McPherson College on Wednesday where they defeated their opponents 9-0. The Falcons now advance to the semifinals against Bethel College on Saturday at 9 a.m. at Bethel’s courts in North Newton. Pending a win on Saturday, the KCAC Championship match will be held at 1 p.m. at Hesston High School. The loser of Saturday’s game, however, will return to Bethel to play for the third place tournament finish also at 1 p.m.
